I began to work in metals and vitreous enamel after receiving a degree in philosophy from Portland State University. I worked as an metalsmith-enamelist for the next twenty-five years. I was on the faculty of College of Arts and Crafts and taught workshops locally and around the country. I sold my work at major crafts fairs and in some of the country's better craft galleries. I've also worked as a production jeweler, product photographer and website creator. I spent my last years of employment working as a Business and Program Management Analyst for the Department of Interior. I live on a ¾ of an acre on the Johnson Creek near Leach Botanical Garden in Portland, Oregon and, since retiring, I've begun to look more carefully in my own back yard, creating a series of photos and videos from what I've found there.
